New swim distance!

Yesterday between 5:15 and 6:15pm, I swam 2000 meters. That is the farthest I have ever swam. I made up my own workout and I stuck to it. It looked something like this:

200m warm up
4x100s (30 secs rest in between)
4x50s (sprint/easy, 15 secs recovery)
200 kick
200 pull
4x50s drill (catchup/drag thumbs alternate, 15 secs recovery)
100 kick
200 pull
100 cooldown

1800 total

I got to the cooldown and was still feeling REALLY good. I wasn't gasping for air, I was keeping pretty much with one breath every four strokes. I asked myself, "M, you think you could do a 200 cooldown?" I replied "How about we make it a 300 cooldown and round off the workout at 2000m?" SO I DID.

It felt amazing. The water felt great on my post-half marathon legs, and I finally am getting my breathing down.

Becoming a mermaid may not be a pipe dream, folks. WOOT.

Way to go! That's a long way to swim, and I haven't gone that far yet. You're a motivation. That looked like an awesome workout too. Keep up the good work.
