It's official!!! I just signed up for my first trail run! After falling head over heels in love with the Hocking Hills and then finding out that there was a run scheduled only a month and a half after my visit means only one thing. I SIGNED UP! I am now officially registered for the 10K at the Hocking Hills Indian Run.

What this also means is that I will not be doing the last of the "Girls Tri Too" Series. I had planned on Sept 18 being my last tri for the season, but I am too excited about running in Hocking Hills State Park. That means I will bust my butt until next year's tri season, purchase my full year's membership in USTA and do lots of sprint tris.

That means training from here until mid September has one theme: HILLS, HILLS, HILLS. I want to be fully prepared for the trail. I'll have two races in two weeks - the Emerald City Quarter Marathon (which is very flat) on Sept 5 and the Hocking Hills run on the 18th. If my training goes well, I am hoping to PR on the Emerald City course - my goal is sub one hour on a 10K. Can I do it? I have no idea. Only one way to find out!

Whew!!! My tummy is all full of butterflies now!!!!!!

Oh yeah - one more update!!! I finally broke down and ordered one of these bad boys:

This will be my race shirt for both the Emerald City race AND Hocking Hills. This will force me to train like a beast so I don't looky like a wimpy vegetarian out on the course. If you want a shirt, click on the photo above to order one!
