Two Wonderful Years

Hubby and I decided to take a last minute trip.

Two years ago, hubby and I were married in front of our friends and family on the campus of Duke University. We danced the night away at Alivia's, then we whisked ourselves off to Boone, North Carolina for a romantic week of hiking, lounging and tubing on NC's New River.

We decided to recreate the one part of that whole experience that we could - we're headed off to a cabin in the woods! We'll be spending the next two days in Hocking Hills State Park. Only an hour away from our home, but it looks to be quite the amazing site.

Tomorrow we are hiking part of the Buckeye Trail and Sunday we are ziplining!!!!!! I absolutely cannot wait.

Back from the Windy City

I am back from the Windy City!!!! I am happy to say that my buddy D and I actually DID get one run in over the weekend. We headed out at 6:30am on Friday to do a 3 mile out and back to the end of Navy Pier. Unfortunately, due to recent heatwaves, it was already about 80 at 6:30am, and the humidity was well above 70%. We made it though - and for that I am proud. Next time in Chicago, I would love to do a nice long run down Lakeshore - but it just wasn't in the cards with all the wedding planning. The wedding was fantastic. It was great to see my girls. Here's just a few pics borrowed from others until I upload my own. Congrats, G and L! We love you guys and are so thrilled for you!!!!

... I was getting married to my wonderful Michael Brady! I love you, sweetie!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

...to the James Joyce Irish Pub in Durham. Last night was the official 10 year anniversary of the Joyce, and Mike and I were grateful to be included in a private party for the "regulars" last night. I don't know if we should brag about that or take it as a sign we need to go to the Joyce less...

Anyway, congratulations to 10 years of being a great place to be with friends, have a few drinks, play some trivia and meet new people.

Mike and I have a lot of fond memories at the Joyce - our Sunday night chats sitting at the bar to catch up with each other and discuss what was going on in our lives (before we dated), weekly trivia with so many of our friends (when we were dating), and even our engagement itself took place there.

We aren't the only ones who reserve a special place in our hearts for the Joyce. That was very evident last night with all the familiar faces that made their way out to share in the celebration. Congratulations, Jason and Fergus! Here's to another 10 great years...
